Ecuador

OVERVIEW

A tradition of independence

The Shuar are one of the largest Indigenous groups in Ecuador’s Amazon, living closely connected to rivers and the rainforest. Today, many Shuar communities face growing challenges as their water sources are becoming more polluted. Without safe drinking water, families—especially children—suffer from preventable diseases that limit health, education, and opportunity. Providing clean, sustainable water solutions not only improves daily life but also protects Shuar cultural traditions and strengthens community resilience for generations to come.
