Uganda

OVERVIEW

Water for Uganda

Uganda is a small, landlocked country located on the equator in East Africa with a total population of 47.3 million people. Approximately 41% or 19.3 million people lack access to safe water¹. In Uganda, 4.2% of children die before the age of five².

With an annual income GNI per capita of $930 USD³, providing affordable safe water is paramount in solving this crisis. We provide a comprehensive water program with one of the lowest-cost water purification solutions in the world.

VALIDATION

The World Bank found that less than 5% of water projects are revisited, and less than 1% are monitored long-term. Validation is at the core of our three step approach. Global Access 2030 requires that every program is regularly evaluated by local partners to track the program’s overall effectiveness.

After 15 months, our team returned to communities to evaluate the water filter systems and conduct interviews. 100% of the systems were reported to be in working order and tested negative for E.Coli.
